So you all know by now that I am a little over 21 weeks pregnant with TRIPLETS! Getting pregnant was quite the journey for me and along the way (over a year!) I took countless pregnancy tests. I always came back to Clearblue since there was no question about reading the test. With the digital you are either pregnant or not pregnant, I wasn’t spending 20 minutes examining the test to see if I could see a faint line or not. Inevitably your eyes would start to play ticks on you and I would be convinced there was a line even though there wasn’t! I know I’m not the only one who did this, right?
As I have told you all in previous posts we did IVF and I started testing the day after the transfer to test out the HCG shot I was given. I was so discouraged by my negative tests even though I knew it was too soon to test! On the first day where I could have truly gotten a positive there was nothing that morning. I am not sure what made me do it but around noon I took another test and the result is the picture above! I turned to Jamie and told him I was pregnant. I don’t think he believed me but a test that says “pregnant” as clear as day is definite proof!
Of course I continued to take test after test to make sure the results were accurate and then finally the doctor had scheduled me for a beta blood test to test my HCG levels. By that time we thought it might be twins for sure since we had transferred 2 embryos. My test came back positive so early that it was possible. My first blood HCG test was really high and it doubled appropriately throughout the other 2 blood tests I took over the next few days.
When I took my tests Clearblue didn’t yet have the weeks estimator test but I wish they had! I probably would have known sooner that I was pregnant with more than 1 baby with the weeks estimator since it goes based on your HCG levels which are higher when pregnant with multiples! I can imagine my test at 1 or 2 weeks pregnant might have read 3+ weeks, that would have been something to see! The Clearblue Weeks estimator test is available at CVS or online at CVS.com.
The Clearblue Weeks Estimator is Over 99% accurate from expected period at detecting typical pregnancy hormone levels, hormone levels vary and is 93% accurate at detecting the number of weeks based on time since ovulation. OB’s agree that the Clearblue Weeks Estimator provides valuable information for women not otherwise provided by a pregnancy test and the test is cleared by the FDA.
