1/14 Pinterest Pin(s) of the Week: What Popped up Today

by Pennie on January 14, 2014

You know when you login to Pinterest it shows you a multitude of pins based on things you like or people you follow or friends pins?  Well, today I thought I would just pull a selection of those pins that caught my eye.

While I totally would not want to walk up and down this Spiral staircase made from chunky wooden blocks by QC, I think it looks fabulous.  It comes to us via “de zeen magazine”

You know I am a total beach girl, so this Under Water Palette from Design Seeds called my name right away!

I keep seeing this hint around Pinterest, but haven’t tried it yet.  From My Fridge Food is this tip about adding 1/2 tsp of baking soda to the water to make the egg shell easier to peel.  (There are some other interesting eggs tips there as well.)

I just started seeing this pin from the Holm Family Cookbook.  Called the Magic Corn Trick, you cut off the bottom of the corn, leaving the husks intact.  Then you microwave to your desired doneness and then holding the top of the corn husks (the silky part) you squeeze the corn out the bottom and it supposed to be silk free.  If it works this is a great time saver and I will use it forever!

From Then She Made comes this “Souper” Storage idea.  This is fabulous because it’s clever, extremely useful and upcycles something that would other wise end up in land waste some where.  I’m pretty sure I’m going to make one of these before the week it up.

Here is a simple idea that is so wonderful, I wish Quilter in Motion would get an award for it!  This bobbin holder is pure genius!

From Design Sponge is this great idea for a Self-Watering Planter.  This was implemented in a glass bottle, but I think a 2 liter plastic bottle would also be a great way to go!

Here’s another useful, wonderfully easy hint from Joyzz.com.  Freeze fresh herbs in olive oil to use when they are out of season!

This is a pretty ingenious idea from Saifou.com.  It’s cute, space saving and multi use.  Love it!

Finally, from Ludvig Nevland on Behance.net, some words to live by!
