This post is dedicated to my most hated event of the year: the start of Daylight Saving Time. I’m pretty sure that DST is a government conspiracy to disrupt my sleeping habits twice a year for no good reason. FromWikipedia.org: “Daylight saving time (DST) or summer time is the practice of advancing clocks during the lighter months so that evenings have more apparent daylight and mornings have less. …The practice has been both praised and criticized.”
You can read all about it at your leisure. All I can say is, you can keep me up as late as you want but DON’T wake me up early. I get my really good, solid sleep in the early hours of the morning. Making me get up early really messes with my head! I thought I’d see what Pinners had to say about DST; I’m pretty sure I found some kindred spirits.
This is a great poster, because it combines 2 things I feel strongly about: my hatred of DST and my love of “The Princess Bride”. This is from John Rea-Hendrick:
Someecards has pretty much summed it up for me.
Love these baby meme pics – found one for DST on Bostinno!
Now Premeditated Leftovers tries to put a positive spin on DST by giving you a set of 10 chores to associate and do with the time change twice year.
You may not realize how the time change affects people with disabilities. From Red Vines and Red Wine an article titled “Autism hates Daylight Savings Time”.
Lastly from Working Mother here are “4 Tips for Adjusting to Daylight Savings Time“.
