American Greetings Creates iPad app Creatacard!

by Pennie on March 28, 2014

creatacardlogoAmerican Greetings’ has a brand new, first-of-its-kind iPad app called Creatacard. Encouraging children to start a life-long friendship with their imagination, the Creatacard app connects them with the important people in their lives with the exclusive capability to have their special designs printed as real paper cards and mailed anywhere in the world.

Adding a dash of magic to the act of sending a card, Creatacard is the first and only iPad app that brings your child’s artwork to life as a professionally printed greeting cardadorned with artwork, stickers, your own photos and more.  Creatacard provides the perfect opportunity for parents and children to work together as they bring their imagination to life using screen time as enjoyable educational time.  Providing mobile apps to keep people connected is a natural extension for American Greetings; we have taken the offline behavior of making cards that children have enjoyed for generations and created an app that brings this experience to an amazing new level.

Pennie’s take:  After downloading the application my grandson (mostly) and I created a card in less than 15 minutes.  It’s very intuitive, has lots of different types of drawing tools from paint brushes to markers to colored pencils, stickers and stamps.  It was very easy to incorporate an image from the iPad and super easy to put a really cute frame on it (the app practically) does it itself!  My grandson was very happy it would show it was created by him.  He’s still a little young to understand how mail works, but that resolve itself in time.  For now, he’s happy to show his mom the card he made for her!

I received a copy of the free app to facilitate this review.  All opinions remain my own.
