The 85-year-old tomato brand is hosting a Facebook promotion and is asking home cooks to post about their inspiration in cooking. Who inspired you?
Part of the promotion is also educating home cooks on tomatoes (when to used crushed, diced, whole, puree, plum, sauce, etc.). For example, crushed tomatoes make a great base for pasta sauce, while paste can be used to thicken recipes.
There is a line of new No Salt Added products including Crushed, as well as the diced and puree. The new labels that are now on the cans even provide tips and details on how to properly cook with tomatoes.
To celebrate its heritage dating back to 1929, people are being encouraged to post their cooking inspiration stories on Tuttorosso’s Facebook page starting on APRIL 16 and going through MAY 7.
Each entrant will receive a meal-occasion themed digital recipe flipbook with a $1.00/4 coupon, recipes, and cooking tips.
All entrants have to do is…
1.) Like the Tuttorosso’s Facebook page, and
2.) Post who has been an inspiration in your family cooking tradition and how would you like to celebrate in their honor.
The winner will receive a $250 prize pack that includes a serving plate, sauce ladle, pasta pot set and heirloom wooden spoon, plus $300 to a dinner celebration of the winner’s choosing!
Nicole’s take: When I first graduated from college I had no idea how to cook. I thought I wouldn’t like cooking and had no interest at all! Then I started to realize that cooking was something that might be a good hobby for me and I gave it a shot. I started my learning how to make some of the traditional recipes from my family, like brisket and sweet and sour meatballs and when they came out as I remembered my grandmother making them I knew cooking was the perfect hobby for me! I don’t get to cook much now with the babies here but once they are a little older I hope to get back to cooking and creating delicious meals out of love for my family!
