From the Cradle Coach Philosophy:
When people hear about sleep training or that you’re a sleep consultant, they automatically think they will be forced to let their child cry. As your sleep guide, my mission is to find the right method of sleep plan that suits your family and situation. I don’t practice with one program or one method. I educate on many methods and my goal always is for my parents to choose a method that they are comfortable with, provided it’s one that suits their childs personality and temperament.
Babies can’t communicate their complaints like we can in regards to change. Who likes change? When a child is crying it out, more times than not it’s because they are fighting the change that the parent is implementing. I can’t promise you no crying. Chances are, there may be some crying involved in your Sleep Plan. I can promise you that we will work with you in developing a plan that you are comfortable with and ready to do. We will offer you the guidance and support you need to make it through the process.
Nicole’s take: With 3 babies you can imagine sleep is difficult. For them and for us! I am so lucky in that the babies started sleeping through the night pretty early on. They all have reflux and were so premature that they slept on an incline in Rock n Plays for a long time! They were in our room and I loved it. When they got to be about 8 months I wanted to move them to cribs in their own room and tried one night – total disaster! I realized I needed professionals!
Enter The Cradle Coach! They are a local to me company that specializes in assisting parents with their kids’ sleep issues! I did a phone consult with our sleep consultant, Anna, and she was able to better understand what was going on in our house with respect to sleep. A few days later we had a training phone call where she provided me the schedule she had created for us and instructions on how to implement it.
I had told her that 2 of the girls get really upset and make themselves throw up and I wasn’t comfortable with it getting to that point. The schedule and instructions took everything I wanted into account! I got started and Anna was available for several days to ask me how things were going and give advice. I loved having the individualized schedule and instructions as well as access to Anna for advice and tips.
I’m happy to report that 2 out of the 3 are in their cribs for naps and overnight! That was my goal. Charlotte was transitioned to sleep laying flat in the pack n play in our room which is big since she hasn’t ever laid flat. She is doing great there and will transition to her crib very soon!
