Review of Product: I received the raspberry and peach variety to try out.  They also have a banana and blueberry variety available.  We really liked these – we like the Honey Bunches of Oats as a rule – I like how nutritious they are and everyone else likes that they are crunchy with a variety of elements.  The peach flakes were sweet but not overly sweet and had a nice peach taste.  The raspberry oat clusters were my favorite – they are delicious and add some different texture to the cereal.  The best part is that the cereal didn’t get too soggy when in milk and we also ate it by the handful as a snack or in some greek yogurt to add crunch!

I love when stores have loyalty and rewards programs but I don’t often think of pharmacy benefits like this.  I was happy to hear that there is a  Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens that offers savings on more than 8,000 brand-name and all generic medications.

The Savings Club is only $35 per year and membership covers everyone in the family, including a spouse, dependents 22 and younger and pets.  I LOVE that pets are included here because many times medicine for Chester and Cleo is really expensive! Chester just started a 30 day course of antibiotics for some skin issues and the prescription was almost $50! I would have loved to get some discount on thus prescription!

The club is just $20 for individuals only.  You simply join and then receive discounts on your prescription medicines.  You’ll also get discounts on flu shots, pet prescriptions, nebulizers and diabetic supplies.  As with any reward or loyalty program that has a fee, I recommend doing an honest assessment of how much you would save with the program based on your last year’s spending and if there is a savings after the payment of the fee, then definitely go for it!

Review of Product: I am usually skeptical of store brands and find that with coupons I can often save more on name brands – until I was introduced to the Family Gourmet line by Family Dollar that is! These products are considerably less than the name brands and the convenience of shopping in one location for so many items during those weeks when I just don’t have time to clip coupons and plan my trip (yes, it definitely happens!) is just too good to pass up.  We tried a bunch of their products in anticipation of Super Bowl party planning and they were delicious.  The salsa and microwave popcorn were super yummy and completely indistinguishable from the national brand.  I would definitely buy the Family Gourmet line of foods again and am looking forward to it!
